How to Snag the Best Deals on Amazon Prime Day by Mimosas & Motherhood

Happy Amazon Prime Day! This year, Amazon Prime Day kicks off on Tuesday, October 13th, and will run for two full days.

I love finding deals, especially leading up to the holidays. I will be sharing everything you need to know to navigate Prime Day and get the best deals on baby and kids gear. Be sure to bookmark this page so that you can easily access it, as I will be posting new items and updates as the sale progresses.

Prime Day normally occurs in July. This year it was delayed due to everything happening with the pandemic. I personally feel this delay is great, as having Amazon Prime Day in October aligns perfectly with kicking off holiday shopping!

WHEN IS AMAZON PRIME DAY?

Amazon Prime Day officially starts on Tuesday, October 13 (midnight PST), and runs through Wednesday, October 14. That’s two full days of deals!

First, to shop Amazon Prime Day, you need to have a Prime membership. If you don’t have one yet, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial to take advantage of all the promotions. You can cancel before your trial ends, or get an annual membership for $119.

You can ALSO get an Amazon Prime membership at an almost 50% discount if you have an EBT card or are part of another qualifying government assistance program.

NAVIGATING AMAZON PRIME DAY

You can navigate the event through the Prime Day landing page. There will be multiple types of deals posted on Prime Day: Deals of the Day, Lightning Deals, Savings and Sales, and Coupons.

DEALS OF THE DAY: Deals of the Day are typically what you think of as big-ticket items (like an Instant Pot, Roomba, etc). These deals are available only for a specific time or until they sell out. Expect these to start loading at midnight on October 13th, and new deals will continue to be announced throughout the next two days. Be sure to check this page often during Prime Day.

LIGHTNING DEALS: Lightning Deals are promotions that go live every five minutes and last for a few hours or until they sell out. There will be THOUSANDS of Lightning Deals of these in multiple categories throughout the two-day Prime event. Keep an eye out for these, as they are typically one of the best ways to find discounts on baby gear and toys.

One of my favorite parts is that you can browse upcoming Lightning Deals in various categories before they go live. If you see something you’re interested in, be sure you select “Watch the Deal” on your computer or mobile app to receive a notification when the deal is about to start.

SAVINGS & SALES: This category includes other sales and discounts. For example, last year they had 50% off select children’s books and 20% off various baby products (plus many more!).

COUPONS: Did you know that Amazon has a whole area with coupons?? These are available on Prime Day are the best way to stock up on items like diapers, wipes, formula, and many more baby and household products. To apply the discount, simply “clip” the coupon under the product description, and the price will drop automatically at checkout.

TIPS FOR GETTING THE BEST PRIME DAY BABY & KID DEALS

In the past, there have been a TON of baby and kids items (like strollers, car seats, and toys) included in Prime Day, and this year I am expecting the same thing. I will be sharing with all of you my top picks, but with literally thousands of deals it’s impossible to feature everything.

Here are some of my top tips for getting the best deals on Amazon Prime Day so that you don’t miss anything!

Tip 1: If you don’t already have an Amazon Prime account, sign up before the event starts so you’re ready to start shopping immediately! Remember, you can get a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime.

Tip 2: Verify that your address and payment information is up to date and correct before Prime Day kicks off. This will allow you to check out quickly by using the “Buy Now” feature. Many deals are expected to go quickly, so you don’t want to miss out by realizing you have to update your info when you’re trying to check out!

Tip 3: Bookmark the Prime Day landing page. This will be the easiest and quickest way to spot new deals as they’re posted. Be sure to check it regularly throughout the Prime Day event!

Tip 4: Did you know you can combine Prime Day household and baby coupons with the Subscribe & Save discount?? I had no clue! If you’re unfamiliar, Subscribe & Save is a subscription service through Amazon. You can earn additional savings by setting up scheduled deliveries on household and baby items. You can get between 5% to 15% off using this option, and can easily cancel after your first order ships. Many of the coupons available on Prime Day will have the option to save more by selecting Subscribe & Save at checkout!

Tip 5: If you’ve been holding onto your Baby Registry Completion Discount, you may be able to combine it with Prime Day savings on eligible items. I actually did this 2 years ago and snagged some insane deals on a car seat and stroller.

To get the extra registry completion discount, the item you are purchasing needs to be on your registry, so add any items you may way to buy now! You also need to check out through the completion discount view on your registry, so don’t forget that step.

PRIME EARLY ACCESS DEALS

Prime Day kicks with some great early Early Access Prime Day Deals! Shop some of my favorite picks below. Remember, Prime Day deals are only available for Prime Members so you won’t be able to see these coupons unless you are signed in through your Prime-authorized account.

I missed these deals on amazon because at that time I didn't know about it, but luckily I found similar deals on https://www.reecoupons.com/categories/black-friday and I bought my all stuff from there, because these things are very important for everyone, and we can't compromise he quality of the items for kids.
