Shape Building with Daddy & Picasso Tiles

Updated: Sep 19, 2019

During this week's Teach My Toddler Tuesday activity, Dad stepped in to help a pregnant mama with a fun new STEAM activity. Needless to say he was very excited to build and play with Picasso Tiles, all while showing Sofia how to recognize specific shapes.

In case you were wondering about the brand Picasso Tiles, they are a fun “shape building” set utilizing embedded magnets that immerses children (and creative adults) into crafting 2D and 3D. What I loved about them is that the company strives to help creative children in core fundamentals such as the basics of physics, aptitude in mechanics, building and architecture.

Picasso Tiles gifted us a Mini Diamond 60pc set and here is what it included:

In The Box

- 18 Mini Equilateral Triangles

- 20 Mini Squares

- 12 Mini Right Triangles

- 8 Mini Isosceles Triangles

- 2 Mini Large Squares

Some of our favorite features were:

  • No limitations, scalable to build as big as desired by adding more pieces to create the master piece.

  • Children can acquire strong sense of color, geometrical shapes, numbers counts, magnetic polarities, structural engineering and 3d architectural design at an early age.

  • Entertaining for single or multiple parties and feeling a sense of achievement together. Suitable for all ages (3+ and up) and a great way to spend quality time with the family and love ones.

  • Easy to construct and easy to put away for storage.

  • Develops kids creativity and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) skills

  • Child safe and lead safe

  • Releases the kids from the electronic devices and digital screen such as TV, gaming, smartphone or tablets which could be harmful to children eye visions!

They have a variety of options available and you can choose the set that works best for your child. In Sofia's case she is still a few months shy of being three but her goal was to build a "princess" castle with dad and of course the Rapunzel dress gives that away..lol

Here was Sofia and Dad's final product! They were very excited to play and we look forward to next time.
